INDOOR SURVEILLANCE/SECURITY

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SURVEILLANCE AND SECURITY?

Surveillance involves cameras to keep an eye on your property. These images are fed to a device called an NVR. The NVR both supplies power to each camera, as well as stores the image for a period of time, all through a CAT 6 cable. Storage time depends on the size of the hard drive installed. This differs from the do it yourself “wireless cameras”. If you still have to run a wire to power it up, why not run a cable that both powers the camera and supplies the image?

Security differs from surveillance as a security system covers your doors and windows, interior space, and often your fire and CO systems. In addition you can add monthly monitoring services that will monitor both your intrusion and fire/CO systems 24/7. This is especially useful if you travel frequently. An indoor security system can also provide a wireless fob that an elderly family member can wear around their neck (none of us are getting any younger!) that summons help and is available 24/7. Help is but a button press away!

Security can also be extended to your pool area. Most towns require an alarm be placed on exterior doors that lead from the house to the pool area that sounds (very loudly) if a door is opened. A must if small children are in the home.

WHY HAVE BENTLEY ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS PROVIDE AND INSTALL YOUR IN-HOME SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS?

DIY wireless cameras depend on how strong your WiFi signal is. Bentley Systems does not use these type of cameras, as the reliability is not consistent. In addition, you have to pay a monthly fee just to store and retrieve your images! With our systems, the images from the cameras can be viewed on your mobile device(s), or can be connected to a monitor for viewing at home or the office.

With our experience in installing both surveillance and security systems, Bentley Electronic Systems can recommend exactly the system you need, and will install it expertly for trouble-free operation.
