You Have Questions? Bob has Answers! TELEVISION MOUNTING SYSTEMS

QUESTION: "What are the the different types of television mounting brackets, and in what situation would I use them? "

BOB SAYS: There are three types of TV mounts:

Fixed Mounts - stay flat against the wall. This is the most common option for home television/theater setups. There are no possible adjustments once installed.

Tilt Mounts - tilt forward for a better viewing angle if the television must be mounted too high for comfortable viewing.

Articulating Mounts - pull out from the wall and can turn left and right as well as tilt up or down.

The size and weight of your TV will also affect what kind of wall mount you will get and the way it is installed. TV mounts usually have both size capacity and weight capacity. The weight capacity matters more as your mount and TV can dislodge easily if you exceed these limits. Therefore, ensure that the TV’s weight does not exceed the maximum weight capacity of your mount.

Screens can be mounted on almost any wall surface, from drywall to brick to plaster to wood…The type of mounting system you choose will depend on where the television is being mounted, and where the viewers will be seated. For information about ideal distance from the screen to the viewer, or how sound should be set up, reach out directly.

Fixed mounted screens are flat against the wall and cannot be moved.

Tilt mounts can angle up or down - especially useful if the screen is mounted above eye level of the viewer.

Articulating mounts can be angled up, down, or left or right.
